Our Love Story and How We Got Here!
We met on July 5, 2006 when Karen started what she thought was her dream job. It wasn't what she thought it would be but there was a really cute camp counseler who caught her eye. Seeing that Mitch was quiet and very shy, Karen decided to ask him to go to a baseball game for an idependent baseball team that practived in the facility that they worked at. Well, it being Florida and all, mother nature stepped in and it started raining. Not one to let the oppurtunity pass, Karen invited Mitch to her apartment. There they watched a baseball game between Mitchs favorite team, the Cardinals and Karens favorite team the Braves. It was a perfect start!
Within the next 2 weeks, they became inseperable. They worked together all day then would spend time after. They quickly met each others families and everybody got along great.
The end of the summer came and Mitch had to go back to school at UCF. Karen was devastated but they decided it was worth it to try the long distance thing. Karen spent every weekend driving up to UCF. In February, Karen was dealt a very sad situation when her mom died of cancer. Karen knew she couldn't be alone. She moved up there and moved in with Mitch and his roommates.
From there, everything blossomed. Karen lived with Mitchs parents until mitch got drafted by the NY Mets. Then they moved to Port St. Lucie while Mitch recovered from surgery..
On May 16, 2009 Mitch came home from the baseball field and told Karen that there was something in there bedroom that was hers. Karen laughed because she was in her bedroom so everything was hers. Finally after Mitch kept laughing, he admitted that there was something that Karen didn't know was hers. She found a ring box in the closet, took it out. Then Mitch came around the bed and got on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Karen started crying and was so happy and wouldnt stop kissing Mitch. Then she started texting everyone she knew. It was the best day of her life!
